"That would be best..." She reluctantly left my side to let me walk the path down memory lane. I tried to remember everything I had left but could only remember my birthday and a random memory of watching Earth's sun setting over the ocean. Very slowly, I felt my birthday fall into the empty void of nothingness leaving me with the only memory I had left. I tried with all of my willpower to keep that one single memory but I only managed to keep it for five minutes before it also fell, leaving my mind an utter and complete blank.
(A/N: This chapter will be from Flaireonette's point of view.)
I woke up early to check in on Pyro and found him sleeping near his stuff. Carefully, I walked up to him with my claws making small clicks on the ground and prayed that I wouldn't wake him up. He was mumbling something in his sleep that I could not make out. Straining my ears, I managed to make out that he felt alone, depressed, and scared.
I wonder what's going on in his head. I thought with curiosity. He seems so sad... Surely there must be something I can do? I came up with nothing that could help ease his present state. He brought me out of my thoughts as he started muttering something that sounded like... Singing? I listened hard to hear what it was.
There's nothing left for me in this world,
there's nothing left for me in this life,
there's nothing left for me in this whole wide world,
there's nothing left for me in this world.
There's no one left to love,
there's no one left to turn to for help or guidance,
there's no one left to talk with or listen to,
there's nothing left for me in this world.
I've lost my world,
I've lost my life,
I've lost my one true being,
There's nothing left for me in this world.
There's nothing left for me in this world,
there's nothing left for me in this life,
there's nothing left for me in this whole wide world,
there's nothing left for me in this world.
He stopped and shifted into a more comfortable position before muttering something about not remembering his past and continuing his slumber. Pyro sure doesn't look that well. I should do something for him but the question is what?
I turned to leave when I heard a sad voice call after me. "Wait! Please don't leave me alone to suffer! You're the first dragon I've ever ever known who seems familiar. Please, please don't go!" His voice was full of some unknown sorrow that made me want to comfort him. I did so.
"What's wrong?" I asked in a soothing tone. He seemed to calm down slightly.
"I don't know." He took a deep breath. "I don't know how I got here or why I can't remember anything. I don't know why I feel like something is missing inside of me and why something feels chained up in me. I don't know why there's nothing that seems familiar except for you and why I feel so different. I don't know anything!"
He sobbed for a little bit before calming down. "You let it all out?" I asked him as he gave a nod. "It's going to be alright, just try to relax."
"Thanks. Do you know what my name is?" I blinked. How could he forget his name?
"Yes..."
"Can you tell me?" I could see hope in his eyes.
"It's Sepyronaut but let's just call you Sep or Pyro for short."
"Ok but...um...why are our tails intertwining?"
"Huh?" I looked at where our tails were and found them wrapped around each other. "Oh! Sorry!" I quickly got mine away from his and made the dragon equivilent of a human blushing. (A/N:Their wings and tail become restless.)
"Is that something bad? I don't really know what it means to be a dragon."
"No it's nothing bad. It's just a display of affection..." I mumbled the last sentence in a way that he could not understand what I was saying.
He seemed to be in a sort of trance for a few seconds. "I feel funny..." I noticed that he was looking like he had an overload of information enter his head.
"Pyro? Are you alright?" I was getting worried as he had look of confusion and pain written all over his body. I gently nudged him and felt a surge of pain enter through my body as the world around me blinked out of existance.
"Are you alright?" I heard a voice ask. Groaning, I got up and opened my eyes to find Pyro right next to me.
"Yeah, I'm ok. Where are we?" I looked around as I noticed everything except for me and Pyro was completely black.
"I can answer that." I nearly fell in shock as I heard a voice come from behind me. As we both turned around to face the source we found a ghost dragon.
"Wh- who are you?" I stammered.
"I am Sepyronaut's guardian, his 'inner self' as thou knows it. Unfortunately, he doesn't remember me very well anymore but I will still guide him just the same." He paused as he took a breath. "Ah, it will be just like it once was all those years ago but, alas, I need thee's help in releasing me from my prison."
Pyro just sat there with a puzzled expression on his face that seemed to be getting more confused as everything was happening. "Huh?"
I didn't answer that so I continued my conversation with Sep's guardian. "Why does it have to be me? I'm only a teenager for crying out loud!"
The guardian sighed. "Ye need to find thy community's potions master for more information about that. I'm afraid that I can't keep talking to thee for much longer." He turned to Sepyronaut and said, "To answer thee's previous question about my name, it's-" He suddenly disappeared from view as the real world came back into existance.
"What in Ur's name just happened?!" I practically yelled.
"I'm not sure but it seemed like I knew him from one time or another..." I noticed that he was puzzled greatly.
"I should probably get going. Stay here ok?"
"Ok..."
I ran out in search of the potions master.I really hope that this isn't some sick joke.
